The holiday season is finally here and many of you might be wondering what to get for your friends this year. I know my favorite part of the holidays is getting to pick out gifts that I know my family and friends will love and watching how excited they get when they open them. I like to think of myself as a good gift-giver but, for those of you that aren’t too sure on what to pick out, here are some ideas for the important people in your life.

For the fashion-forward:

Try getting them a pair of flashy sunglasses or an eye-catching choker. It’s a good way to add something to their outfits without having to worry about sizing or buying something expensive that they might not like! It’ll be sure to add a nice touch to their next #ootd on Instagram.

For the sorority girl:

For those who went Greek in your life, buy them something to represent their sorority. The Social Life has lots of cute options online, and even has Virginia Tech clothing! You can also find tons of options online on Etsy. This gift is a good way to make the present more personalized for them and something that they’ll be able to wear often.

For the travel enthusiast:

For your friend who loves to vacation, buy a subscription to Universal Yums, an online program that sends one package a month that includes sweet and savory snacks from foreign countries. Each month is different and you can buy sets of three or six months of the subscription. It’s an easier (and cheaper) way for them to “travel” the world!

For the beauty guru:

A beauty lover is definitely not going to mind getting some more makeup to add to their collection this holiday season. So, why not get them a set of various mini-products for them to try out? Or if you know a brand that they like, give them a eye palette that they can get some use out of for those nights out!

For the one who’s always in the gym:

If your friend is always the one making time for the gym after class, maybe buy them some extra gym gear so they can switch up their routine. Resistance bands are a good way to make your regular routines harder with the added resistance. Another good idea is a S’well bottle, which is said to keep drinks cold for 24 hours, to help keep them hydrated throughout their workout!

For the friend who just wants to chill out all break:

There’s always that one friend that turns into a hermit as soon as it gets cold outside. I’m not one to encourage bad habits, but staying warm inside doesn’t seem bad to me so why not get them some cozy pajamas and slippers! A cute onesie is a fun gift to give and will keep them warm while they watch Netflix until it hits above 60 degrees outside.

Happy gifting Hokies and happy holidays!
