Meet the HC Team: Mary Lister

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Villanova chapter.

Name: Mary Lister

Class: 2014

Are you involved in any activities at Villanova other than Her Campus?

I am pretty involved in the honors program (not to sound like a douchebag) and I am a chair on hunger and homelessness awareness week.

What made you want to get involved with Her Campus?

I really enjoy writing, almost as much as I enjoy reading, which made me want to write for Her Campus!

What’s your favorite memory at Villanova?

My favorite memory at Villanova is when I moved out of the quad. Everyone was so sad, and I was going to be abroad the next semester, but it really hit home how much I was going to miss all my friends. And I did.

What’s your favorite memory from your study abroad program?

I lived in a major city in Tanzania while I was a abroad, and ended being sick for the majority of my trip. But when I went on Safari in the Serengeti, I was behind most of our group and ended up being in a pickup truck instead of a rover. I got into the bed of the truck as we drove into the park, and about two minutes in, came across a herd of elephants. They were about 5 feet away from me. Easily the scariest and most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me. That and submitting Mt. Kilimanjaro were pretty insane.

As a senior, do you have any cool jobs lined up next year?

I will be working for ebay next year as a digital marketing associate! I’m pretty pumped, it should be awesome.

If you had a statue made of yourself, what would your pose be?

Definitely sticking my tongue out ala Miley Cyrus. I have a super long tongue.

Any plans for Halloween?

No plans. But I think I’m going to be a flapper since I have the short hair for it. Daisy Buchanan is the goal.
