How to Stay Organized for the New Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Villanova chapter.

We all know that the start of a new semester can be hectic, but here are some tips and tricks to staying organized (and how to make it last all semester long)!

1. Keep a planner/an agenda.

This is the most simple way to ensure you stay on top of all of your assignments, tests, meetings, and events this year.

2. Use check-lists.

For more day-to-day reminders, always keep a check-list in your bag. Bonus: it feels like a weight is lifted off your shoulders every time you check a completed assignment off the list!

3. Read the syllabus.

We know this could be annoying, especially when the syllabus is 20 pages long. However, carefully going through the syllabus is the best way to make sure you are aware of all the due dates and guide-lines for the course.

4. Color-code everything.

With so many classes, clubs, organizations, and meetings, color-coding is a simple (and sometimes fun!) way to make sure you do not get confused. Pick a color for each course and stick with it throughout the semester.

5. Prioritize.

It may be temping to accept that invite to a date function the night before your first science exam, but make sure it is the best decision for you and your grades before jumping into any plans.

We wish you the best of luck throughout the Fall semester. Stay organized and remember to have fun!
