Single In the City 2013: Hot Singles, Great Cause, Open BarsBy May 21, 2013 - 6:19am On Saturday, May 18th, I had the pleasure of attending Single and the City Richmond’s second annual bachelorette/bachelor auction. The proceeds from the auction went to the educational and artistic programs hosted at Richmond Centerstage. Some of these programs include BrightLights Education Programs, which is located at Genworth BrightLights Education Center. The venue was at Rhythm Hall, in Downtown Richmond. It was small, but very colorful and beautiful, with open bars and a lively guest list. There was a silent auction going on before the bidding started, and some of the prizes included packages from RVA Trolley and P.F. READ MORE |

Girl Rising Screening Comes to VCUBy April 14, 2013 - 4:40pm Last October, the United Nations sanctioned the first ever International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2013 to raise awareness of issues that face girls around the world. From child marriage, poor access to education, and general inequalities, activists around the world joined hands to expose the importance of improving conditions for girls in impoverished countries. Tasty Food Carts on CampusBy April 1, 2013 - 3:42pm Having a dining plan is nice. Although we pay for dining plans, we aren’t forking up money for our meals on the spot so it almost seems like free food. This makes it easy for us to eat, but it’s not always easy to decide where to eat. Now, we have to admit that VCU has done a good job of providing us options – all-you-can-eat at Shafer, the addicting chicken strips at Raising Cane’s, and made-to-order sandwiches at Cary St. Deli are only to name a few. However, these options can get old, and they get old fast. Do you ever find yourself in between classes thinking, “I could really go for something different but I don’t have time (or feel like) going off campus…”? Well collegiettes, you don’t have to leave campus to find different food options!... |
