Dear Big,

Joining a sorority has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I didn’t know just after two months of being a new member, I would meet so many amazing women that I already have such strong bonds with. I didn’t know sorority life could get better, until big-little week came around. You showered me with presents that matched my personality perfectly. The gifts showed me how much you loved me and how your crafting abilities are stellar. A light pink mason jar filled with my favorite chocolates, my first initial painted in my favorite color and a bear that was wearing a tutu and tiara were only few of the gifts you showered me with over the week. The week was full of emotions and questions about who you were.

At the beginning of the week you lied to me and told me you weren’t taking a little this semester, and you have no idea how heartbroken I was. Everyone told me you were only messing with me to make the surprise more exciting, but I was still bummed with the idea that you wouldn’t be the big for me. After learning that messing with the new members and lying to them about who their big is during big-little week was the sorority way, the hope of you actually being my big came back.

Last night was the moment you finally revealed yourself to me. I was so excited to know my big was you. We already had a bond over animals, food, politics and various activities. You have already made me feel like I belong in our sorority, and I know I can come to you for anything. Seeing your face light up as you jumped out of your box made me think of all of the amazing memories we will have together. Being with you for the rest of my college years will only start the memories. We’ll be there for each other through boy drama, school stress and we’ll be holding each other’s hair over the toilet when needed. Our journey will consist of us obsessing over animals, laughter, dancing and attending each other’s weddings. This bond isn’t one that will only last during college. This is a bond forever. I love you biggie, so much.

Love,

Little
