How Every College Student Feels During Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

When the school year started, it seemed so far away. Now finals week is closer, and more real than ever. Here are some thoughts – among many others – that you may be having right now:

1. Confusion

“Finals week? How is that even possible? We literally just started?”

2.  Overwhelmed

That moment when you start mentally going over all of the things you have to study for.

3.  SOS

Followed by the “I just want to go home and not have to deal with this right now” phase. You might have made a phone call or two back home in the process.

4. Picking up the Slack

If you’ve been doing mediocre work in that one class, you now realize you’ve really got to go above and beyond for that “A” average

5. Accomplishment

Despite the immense amount of stress you’re feeling right now, it means that you are one step closer to completing the year and graduating college. Winter break follows finals and then the fresh start of a new semester. You’ve got this!

Brezaja is a sophomore studying film in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. When not writing articles for Her Campus at VCU, you can usually find them endlessly browsing Netflix or checking social media, mostly Instagram and Twitter. They try to be as open-minded as possible, and don't mind having conversations with others about social issues. After college, they dream of being an art director for films.
Keziah is a writer for Her Campus. She is majoring in Fashion Design with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. HCXO!
