Being healthy doesn’t always have to start with mental and psychical instances. You can be healthy in your home life as well. Staying organized and on top of your chores can benefit you. It’s nice to come home to a clean space. It’ll help your work flow outside where you live too! Here are a few things you can start doing to promote home wellness.

1. Make your bed each morning.

If you make your bed every morning, you won’t have to worry about your sheets getting so messed up to the point it’s hopeless to fix. Making your bed also helps declutter your room! You won’t have as many pillows or blankets on the ground and it’ll help make everything look nicer. Take an extra 5 minutes out of your morning routine to do this and you’ll start to notice the difference.

2. Organize your Tupperware.

If you’re anything like my roommates and I, your Tupperware situation isn’t looking to great. Everything is mismatched, lids are falling out each time you open the cabinet and you can never find the right size bowl. Buying Tupperware that stacks neatly can really benefit how organized your cabinet may be. Try investing in stackable items and if not, a larger basked can hold everything in one place. Next time you open a door in your kitchen, you won’t have an avalanche waiting for you.

3. Hang wall decor properly.

Chances are if you hang a picture on the wall too high or two low, it can look kind of funky. By properly placing decor, it’ll make the room flow better and won’t be as harsh to the naked eye. When choosing pieces to hang up, remember that less is more. Every wall doesn’t need to be filled with pictures, tapestries and nick nacks to look nice.

4. Add plants to make the room feel light and airy.

Natural plants can not only freshen up a room, it can add some much needed oxygen as well. Nothing beats a living plant! If you’re nervous about keeping a real plant alive, fake plants add color and aeration just as well as something natural. Just make sure you don’t add too many!

5. Keep your bathroom clean.

In the one place in your home you go to clean yourself, it needs to be fresh! You can’t feel clean if the bathroom isn’t. Wipe down your counter and shower whenever they start to look grimy. Brushing your teeth can dirty your mirror as well. Make it part of your routine to clean the bathroom once a week. It’ll make you feel better and it’ll look better as well!

These are just a few of the things that you can start doing to promote home wellness. There are all kinds of things you can do! Choose a few of these and come up with a few of your own to start doing. Once they become habit, you’ll think less of them as chores and more as a regular occurrence.
