The last finals of the semester are today. That means winter break is about to be in full swing! Here are 10 reasons to be excited for winter break to help you get through finals week!
1. You can stay in bed all day and no one will judge you.
Winter break is a time of no responsibilities, and getting out of bed is definitely not necessary. No one will judge you for taking a day (or five) to just stay in bed all day; you totally deserve it anyway.
2. Real food!
We’re all getting sick of campus food and having to cook our own meals, but going home means delicious home-cooked meals and going out to your favorite hometown restaurants!
3. Reuniting with the crew.
Let’s be real, you missed your best friends more than anything and Thanksgiving break was nowhere near enough time to reconnect with them. Now you will have a whole month to hang with the girls and get into shenanigans just like old times.
4. Cuddling with your animals.
If you are like me, you miss your pets more than anything and what better way to wash away the stress of the first semester than a hardcore cuddle sesh with your fave furry friends?
5. Short Starbucks lines!
Okay, the line at the Cabell can sometimes be ridiculous but salted caramel mochas are so good that you push through it. At home, luckily, Starbucks lines are a lot shorter (most of the time) and you can sit down enjoy your scrumptious drink without the fear of being late to class or spilling it all over a stranger while running to class.
6. THE HOLIDAYS!
Whatever you celebrate, the holidays are truly the most wonderful time of the year. Get ready for some good food, rad gifts and some much needed quality family time.
7. Travel plans!
Winter break is a great time to travel which is something to get super excited about. Whether it be to Hawaii or NYC, you are going to have an awesome time. And if you’re not going anywhere, it’s okay, Netflix is still your friend.
8. Netflix, Netflix and more Netflix.
This is a big one. There is hardly any time during the semester to binge watch Netflix. This break, get ready to catch up on all your favorite shows and find some new ones. No shame.
9. You will have your own bathroom.
This may not seem like a big deal but it really is. Shower time is where some deep thinking and really loud singing happens and it’s hard to do that when you share it with other people, for realz.
