Spring is fast approaching! Along with the joyous qualities of spring, here are some more in-depth reasons to be excited for the upcoming season:

1. The weather

The scenery around campus looks much prettier with golden rays cast along the trees and buildings. The trees regain their leaves and flowers sprout from the ground. Warm weather and clearer skies is also a great mood booster! In these last few months of the school year, make sure you have a chance to appreciate the great outdoors.

2. Less layers = more wardrobe options

Although sometimes layers can benefit your ensemble, there’s something freeing about not wearing a heavy jacket every time you want to go outside to grab food or to go class. With more stylistic options comes more opportunity to show of your spring looks and fashion sense.

3. Spring forward

Daylight savings time starts on March 12. No more pitch-black skies at 5 p.m. This is also a great mood booster, because we can feel like we have more time in the day to get things done. Waking up to an already sunny sky could also help motivate us to get out of bed for class (sometimes).

4. Spring break

For college kids, spring break can often feel like a well-deserved mini vacation. We’re not stuck inside looking at cold, gloomy weather, but instead taking scenic trips with friends or traveling somewhere nice and warm with family.

5.  Bright colors and florals

Say goodbye to navy blues, deep colors and bland tones that are common to wear during the colder months. With spring comes bright, vibrant hair, clothing and makeup colors. What a great thing to look forward to, in my opinion.

6. Summer is closer

After spring comes summer, and that’s when the fun really begins! Summer’s close proximity is proof that we’re so close to completing this school year. So keep going and look up! Brighter and warmer days are ahead.

Brezaja is a sophomore studying film in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. When not writing articles for Her Campus at VCU, you can usually find them endlessly browsing Netflix or checking social media, mostly Instagram and Twitter. They try to be as open-minded as possible, and don't mind having conversations with others about social issues. After college, they dream of being an art director for films.
Keziah is a writer for Her Campus. She is majoring in Fashion Design with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. HCXO!
