Why We Love Title Boxing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Vanderbilt chapter.

This past Tuesday, Title Boxing Nashville welcomed the members of Her Campus Vanderbilt and our guests for a private workout class. We had over 30 guests, which led to a really fun, high-energy event that left us all sweating like crazy! Many people left swearing to come back, stating that Title Boxing was their new favorite gym in Nashville. After personally trying almost every workout class in town, I have to agree- Title Boxing wins the prize! Here are a few things that set Title Boxing apart from its competitors.

1) It’s HARD.

I consider myself a pretty fit person, but I was sweaty and dead after just the 15-minute warmup! Kickboxing is no joke, and Title Boxing will probably kill you. But it’s a full body workout that will give you super-toned arms and a tight core, so working hard is kind of worth it.

2) But not too hard.

Sometimes, workout classes (Barry’s Bootcamp, I’m looking at you) can seem impossible, especially when you’re just running away on a treadmill wishing that you were absolutely anywhere else. But at Title Boxing, the workout feels incredibly hard but also manageable, thanks to the many variations in exercises. You are constantly changing your punches and kicks within the kickboxing segment, and the minute of active rest between rounds gives you just enough time to recover without having to stop. This helps you push past your comfort zone without feeling miserable!

3) The music is great.

As I looked around the room during class, I found a lot of our guests dancing it out with the music. Title Boxing played some classic throwbacks (Yeah! by Usher) as well as a lot of modern hip hop/pop songs that most of us are used to hearing at clubs on Demonbreun. This created a really fun, positive environment that kept all of us working until the end of class!

4) Their different membership options allow for flexibility, especially with students.

Several local boxing gyms force you to buy 6-9 month memberships up front. But Title Boxing also allows you to pay month-to-month, which is awesome for college kids who are constantly leaving Nashville for breaks and weekend trips. They definitely incentivize longer memberships, but they also allow you to freeze your membership whenever you want, so you won’t lose three weeks of class when you leave for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Memberships aren’t cheap, but you’re paying for the best workout in Nashville- and God knows we could all use a crazy intense sweat session after tailgates and date parties!

5) They have a dog in the gym.

They have a French bulldog named Maui who just happens to chill at Title Boxing all the time. She’s adorable. That little face will definitely make you want to wake up early for your boxing class and keep you from skipping out!

In conclusion, Title Boxing is the best. Click here if you’re interested in trying it out- and oh yeah, your first class is free. What are you waiting for???

Stacey Oswald, originally from South Florida, came to Vanderbilt as a member of the class of 2015 and got involved with HerCampus her freshman year. She became assistant editor that year and is now the Campus Correspondent for Vanderbilt HC as a sophomore. Stacey is currently a columnist for Ask Miss A- Nashville and the life section of The Hustler. She's also very involved in her sorority, Kappa Delta, as well as Invisible Children. Outside of school and her extracurriculars, Stacey finds happiness in many sources, the most crucial being exercise and the sun. She loves to attend exercise classes and is an avid runner; she recently completed the Country Music Half Marathon. She also loves Vitamin D, especially when on the beach- though of course, she only soaks up the sun after applying SPF. A few of the things Stacey couldn't live without? Good food (especially from Sweet Cece's, Bricktops, and Samurai Sushi), great books (The Hypnotist's Love Story is a recent favorite), her family back in Florida, her wonderful boyfriend, and all of the great friends she's made at Vanderbilt.
