Musicians Corner: Spring Kickoff ShowBy May 4, 2013 - 1:00pm We live in Music City, but I know most of us don't take advantage of all the live music opportunities this city provides. I, for one, have been to very few concerts, and I don't think I've ever attended a free event- singer/songwriter night in the Holiday Inn doesn't count, right? But I have vowed that, since I'll be staying in Nashville this summer, I will attend free concerts and the like whenever I can. I think the Musicians Corner Kickoff Show in Centennial sounds like the perfect first event, partly because of the massive food truck fiesta. READ MORE |

RUF Cookout feat. The Birch Tree BandBy April 24, 2013 - 6:30pm At college, it's pretty easy to get away from your faith. I personally have been a Catholic all my life, and during high school, I never missed Sunday mass. But since I've been at college, I find myself using Sunday as a catch-up day for homework and sleep, and I often miss church. Lately, I've been trying to get back into the swing of things, but it's still hard to find the time on Sunday. That's why I love attending RUF meetings on Wednesday nights. RUF, or Reformed University Fellowship, is a ballin' campus organization that brings Christian students together to foster a spirit of community and praise. READ MORE |

Vanderbilt Dodecs Spring ConcertBy April 16, 2013 - 8:30pm I cannot think of a girl in this world who doesn't love a musician, and more specifically, a singer. Think Adam Levine. John Mayer in his cuter, less douche-y days. Hunter Hayes. These guys make girls go absolutely crazy, even causing some to make an "If I ever meet Adam Levine, I will hook up with him" agreement with their boyfriends. What a lot of you might not know is that right now, a group of guys called the Dodecaphonics are getting prepared to sing for the Vanderbilt student body tomorrow. And let me tell you, these boys are FINE. READ MORE |

Spread the Word to End the WordBy March 27, 2013 - 6:00pm I know I've personally fallen victim to using the "r word," not to describe people with mental disabilities, but to express frustration about a stupid decision or something of the sort. When I use it, I very rarely think about what it means or how hurtful that word is to so many people. But now that I've heard about Spread the Word to End the Word, I've decided to stop using the "r word" once and for all. READ MORE |

ANTM's Whitney Thompson Comes to Vanderbilt!!!By February 17, 2013 - 8:00pm I used to be obsessed with America's Next Top Model. I also used to love Seventeen Magazine. So I still remember the day when I saw my favorite contestant, Whitney Thomspon, gracing the cover of Seventeen after winning her season of ANTM. I thought it was so cool to see a girl as gorgeous as Whitney rocking her killer curves on a major magazine, way before it was cool to look "normal." READ MORE |
