Name: Courtney Bair College: Arts & Sciences Major: Molecular and Cellular Biology Classes you’re taking this semester, ranked best to worst:  1. Genetics—the Biology nerd in me loves fruit flies and Punnett squares  2. Intro to American Studies through Dance—for a writing class, we haven’t had to write much, and we also practice dancing a few times throughout the semester.  3&3. Tied for last place: Organic Chemistry and Chinese. Chinese would be okay if it wasn’t 5 credit hours. Organic Chemistry would be okay if it wasn’t a class at all. On-Campus involvement: Cheerleading, Alpha Chi Omega, Synergy Tutoring, EVOLVE, Association of Biology Students What are the best and the worst things about being a cheerleader? There are a lot of things I LOVE about cheer! We get to do a lot of appearances. My favorites are at middle and elementary schools because the kids are so happy to see us. I always love the look on little girls’ faces when we let them hold our pompoms. Traveling to away games and tournaments is awesome, and games are a lot more exciting up close. I’m also in love with our new white uniforms this year. Some of our conditioning isn’t my favorite, but it does keep me in good shape.

Vandy or Georgia?

No comment here. As long as Notre Dame loses.

Dream job?

I would love to be a zoo director! I went to high school at the Columbus Zoo, and I’m a zoo fanatic. I would also like to just take care of baby pandas all day every day.

Cutest panda?

Last spring, I had a concussion and my boyfriend took me to the Memphis Zoo for some “animal therapy.” The male panda Le le was by far the cutest panda I have ever seen!! I fell in love with him immediately. Also, at Zoo Atlanta, Mei Lun and Mei Huan are super super cute because they’re twins and they steal bamboo from each other. Two more twins were just born in Atlanta, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them in the spring.

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

I would let my three sisters co-play me because I think they would all portray me in a different way and it would be hilarious.

Best Vandy memory so far?

My two best friends from high school came to visit last spring. I loved exploring Nashville with them and introducing them to all of the people they had been hearing about all year. Also, Move Crew this year was awesome because I got to see all my best friends from Craw5, and there was basically an unlimited popsicle supply. One of the popsicle workers even let me take a box back to my dorm in the middle of moving people in.

Most embarrassing Vandy incident so far?

On the first day of school freshman year, I tripped down the mail room steps and cut my knee pretty badly. I was really determined to get my mail so I waited in line while I was bleeding down my leg and then had to walk all the way back to Crawford. People kept pointing out that my knee was bleeding like I didn’t already know.

Favorite show on Netflix?

Chopped.

Invent a new flavor of Ben & Jerry’s. Name it, explain what would be in it, and why?

Hot Chocolate — Chocolate ice cream, with brownie bits, almonds, and lots of cinnamon. Cinnamon and chocolate is such an underrated combo.

Go-to meal at school?

Chicken Pho from Bamboo Bistro with beef, cilantro, red peppers, carrots, bean sprouts and garlic with rice pudding as a side.

Favorite Snapchat Filter?

Duck filter. RIP. One night instead of studying, my roommate and I were taking duck snapchats. We had a whole story going when the fire alarm went off in Kissam. Instead of exiting, I stood up and yelled “We have to take a duck snapchat of this!” Luckily, it was just a drill.
