Hey, Ladies I know a lot of you have already seen it, but just in case you haven’t, Amber Rose has a PSA Commercial. This time she is not talking about owning the phrase “slut” or about different sexualities on the LGBTQ Spectrum. This time she is taking on the topic every woman battles with every month, the good ole Crimson Wave.

This new PSA was news to me, and I feel like I need to share this with any other woman that doesn’t know about it. When first watching the commercial, you think it was advertising a necklace that looks like it costs an arm and a leg. But, when you get to the end, Amber Rose twists the necklace and pulls out a Tampon! I was confused at first, and then I read the summary about the commercial.

In the United States of America, 36 States still tax feminine hygiene products. There is a 4%-10% tax on tampons, pads, liners, and other menstrual cycle needs. Women are financially punished for our uteruses shedding their lining every month, which we can’t control, but things like pretzels and coffee creamer go untaxed.

I believe that women shouldn’t have to pay tax on a much-needed necessity because it’s not a luxury like clothes and shoes. We have some women and girls who can’t even afford the original price of feminine hygiene products and must go without.

We should all stand for Menstrual Equality. -HCXO!
