Baths are a time to melt the stresses of the day away. Some people indulge in a glass—or bottle, of wine and light candles while others just sit in the bubbles and jam out to some of their favorite songs. No matter the preferences, baths are vital to the sanity of a college student.

Throwbacks? Ed Sheeran? Taylor Swift? Whatever floats your boat! (We are talking water, right?) It doesn’t matter what the songs are, as long as they push all thoughts of responsibility out so that there is room to have a good time! Sing your cares away like your roommates can’t hear you, even though you know they can. Don’t stress if you splash a little water out of the tub. Bathing is your worry free time; a little spill can be handled later.

Not everyone enjoys such a high-energy bath time. Some people, like myself, thrive on those 30 minutes of nearly nothing. For this crowd, music doesn’t have as big of a role. However, some chill tunes on a lower volume most definitely add to the spa experience. Candles and aromatherapy in some shape or form work wonders to set the tone of relaxation. One option would be a few drops of your favorite essential oil while drawing the bath, or even Epson salt with scents such as lavender or eucalyptus to help wind down.

At the end of the day, a bath is all about you! There are no rules, just find out which style works best for you! Next time it’s been a rough day, get that warm water going and take a break from it all. You may be surprised how refreshed you come out feeling.

HCXO!
