We all know, Beyonce Knowles is at the top of the game when it comes to women in the music industry. But how did she do it? Yes, her amazing singing skills and fierce dance routines helped her climb to the top of the music charts, but what really made Beyonce Knowles Carter such a marketable brand? Unfortunately, I may never know the answer to that question, but what I can tell you is how you can begin to take your personal brand/business and work towards making yourself as well-known as Mrs. Carter. Here are a few basic steps on how to start working on “Beyonce-ing YOUR Brand”!
Identify what your brand actually is
If you have no idea what you are selling, then how will anyone else? Make sure you have a clear purpose and idea of what your brand is.
Define/identify what your brand is, and what your services are
Most customers will tend to ask “Well what can you do for me?” They like to know how they can benefit by choosing to work with your or purchase your services. Make sure they feel like working with your brand would be one of the best decisions they will ever make!
Figure out who your target audience is
Knowing who your target audience is, is so important! If you don’t know what type of people you are catering to, then you won’t appeal to anyone. Adverstising has to be specific and appeal to a certain group of people in order to have success within your brand.
Enhance your social media and/or website
As you probably already know, your socal media can be a determining factor when it comes to someone potentially wanting to work with you. Make sure your social media and websites are updated, relevant to your brand and does not contain any inappropriate content.
Create a game plan
Now here’s the fun part! Figure out what you need to do, when it needs to get done, and how you’re going to do it. This is probably the most important step because without creating that game plan, you wll get nowhere!
Using these 5 basic steps will really help you begin working toward a great career! Spend time working on each of these things, and try to be as specific and honest with yourself as possible. Remember, nothing happens overnight! Don’t worry about the success of others compared to your own, because everyone has their own race to run. Where do you think Beyonce would be if she spent time focusing on the success of other artists instead of herself? Definitely wouldn’t be leading a nationwide sold out tour that’s for sure. Put a lot of work into establishing your brand because this is ultimately a reflection of you and no one else. Have fun and work hard. As Queen Bey would say “I dream it, I work hard I grind til I own it!” Having that mindset will make you unstoppable! Just remember when in doubt think, “What would Beyonce do?” and you should be fine!
