Career Choice as a Kid: Model
HC: Hey Sarah! Start us off by telling us why you chose to come to Valdosta State.
Sarah: I came to VSU because of the awesome nursing program. I also knew that I would be able to continue dancing at a college level which was really exciting.
HC: That is exciting! To pursue your passion in college is something everyone should have the chance to do. What are other passions that you have?
Sarah: Helping others in need and God.
HC: It seems that a major in Pre-Nursing is a great channel for your passion of helping others in need. What do you hope to do after you graduate? Or better yet, where do you see yourself in ten years?
Sarah: Maybe take a year off to do some traveling and then find a “big girl job.” In ten years, I would be having a family of my own and working at Sacred Heart Hospital.
HC: The nursing program at VSU is no joke! How do you stay motivated and organized to continue on? Is there anyone that inspires you?
Sarah: I am a big self motivator, but it also comes with the help from my roommates and family. To stay organized, I write things down and use a planner. My dad and older sister inspire me.
HC: Well, when you’re not studying for your program, what else could we find you doing?
Sarah: Dance (obviously), spending time with my family, and going to the beach.
HC: I feel like we are only scratching the surface of getting to know you! Tell me….what are three words that describe you that start with the letter…E! Go!
Sarah: Energetic because I always have a lot of lively energy and love the busy lifestyle. Easy going because I am very relaxed and chill about most everything. Erudite because I feel that I’m very knowledgable about subjects and things that interest me.
HC: Those are some great words! To wrap us up, what impact do you hope do have left at VSU once you graduate next December?
Sarah: I hope to leave a postive impact on people and be someone that others can look up to even when I leave VSU.
