Finals week is here! After four months of classes, papers, tests, and partying, the most stressful week of the semester has finally made its way to us. With all the last minutes assignments, papers and let’s not forget finals exams, it’s almost impossible to not feel anxiety or stress. Although stress is unavoidable, it can be dealt with and managed. Here are a few tips to help you survive this last week of the semester.

1. Exercise

Although the last week may seem to not have any room left for anything but the books, its healthy to take a break from everything. Exercise is the best stress reliever; it has the ability to relax both the body and the mind. Apart from relieving stress, it also increases your health. One of the most relaxing exercise is yoga; thirty minutes of yoga after a hours of studying will ease your mind.

2. Nutrition

To guarantee that you perform at your absolute best during finals, your wellbeing must be your first priority. A healthy diet will be your fuel this week; proper nutrition keeps you at your optimal physically, mentally, and emotionally. Although fast foods and frozen dinners may appear to be the easy and fast choice, these are not good choices. Try to make some time to cook a quick meal, eat breakfast and have snacks to keep you going throughout the day.

3. Hydrate

Drink a lot of water! Not only are the temperatures rising, but remaining hydrated is fundamental. Water helps keep those brain neurons communicating and able to function at their best!

4. Plan

Have a plan for this week. This week is only about you! Put everything else aside, whether its financial problems or boy problems. They can wait! Make a plan and don’t let anything interfere your plan.

5. Be easy on yourself

Being so ambitious and having high standards for yourself can also lead to you never getting a break. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re just human. Remain balanced, be proud of yourself, and stay motivated.

6. Reward yourself

Reward yourself because you deserve it! Whether you decide to wait and reward yourself until after finals or you decide to reward yourself after each study session, do it! This gives you motivation as well as a sense of pride.

The semester is almost over with, but not yet! Don’t give up, finish off strong and remember what your goals are!
