The 3 Top Gifts of Christmas 2015

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Christmas 2015 is within arms reach (for those that don’t realize it, it is less than a month away) and many are stuck on what to buy their significant other or family member for Christmas this year. If you are not on the creative/artsy side, then you will opt for a store-bought gift. Lucky for you, we’ve got you covered with the hottest gifts this Christmas season.

1. Hoverboards – If you have been living under a rock for the last year or so, then you might not have seen them—but if you have, you know how neat looking they are. An easy mode of light transportation, these crafty and nifty hoverboards are the new wave. Ranging from the low end $300 to upwards of $1,500, they come in all colors and designs but are essentially made up the same, consisting of rubber filled wheels so there is never a chance of a flat and a balancing mechanism that you literally control with your weight to go forward or backwards. The higher-end models come complete with Bluetooth connectivity to blast your favorite tunes!

2. Drones – They are not illegal… yet. Drones and drone-photography and videography has propelled (no pun, intended) itself into the household conversation of every technology-enthusiast. Once only geared towards the wealthy, drones now are priced reasonably even for the everyday-consumer. Most come with a HD camera attached to a gimbal that can be controlled via dedicated remote control or through smartphone app. That Go-Pro you have lying around the house, you can mount that bad boy on most drones to produce some amazing and once hard-to-achieve shots. Coming in at a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, most only pack a flight time of less than 15 minutes.

3. Tablets – Tablets have been the “can’t go wrong” gift for the past few years. They are the new gift card. From under $100 to more pricier name brands such as Apple and Microsoft, you can be one of the many people around the word to take the work on the road. Many tablets offer desktop/laptop comparable functions to increase productivity where being on a laptop is not feasible but being on a cellphone is not adequate. Packing a battery life of roughly 4-6 hours and even longer on higher end models and a few days on standby, these are becoming a must-have for any professional who is always on the go!

These are a few of the hottest and must-have gifts this holiday season. Still stuck? You can never go wrong with a gift card!
