3 Creepy Shows That are to Die for

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

The month of October is the spookiest month of the year. After all, most of the good horror movies come out this time of year, and we can’t forget how much we all love Halloween. If you’re a fan of all things scary here’s a short list of extremely eerie shows that not only pack in moments of extreme frights, but also good juicy romance and drama!

1. American Horror Story

American Horror Story is a show on FX that is not only spine-chilling, but also has moments of drama and passion. This show is unique in and of itslef because each season brings a new horror story, with different characters, using the same actors. Now this may seem like it would get boring after a while, but believe me, it doesn’t. Whether it’s the love story from season 1 of Tate and Violet, or the creepy asylum from season 2, this show is full of surprises that you’ll absolutely love. Season 4 has just started on TV, but seasons 1-3 are all now streaming on Netflix.

2. Bates Motel

Bates Motel is a mystery/thriller that revolves around a young man and his mother who move to a bay town to start a new life, and decide to open their own motel. What they’re not expecting is just how crazy the town is. This show has plenty of suspenseful and, well, “WTF” moments. It’ll keep you anticipating every next episode. Season 1 of this series is streaming on Netflix, so if you need something good to watch, grab some snacks and be ready to watch the whole season in one sitting… Yes, it’s just that good.

3. The Returned

The Returned (Les Revenants) is a French thriller about people living in a very small and eerily secluded town whose friends and family members randomly start returning from the dead. It very well may sound like a cliché zombie flick, but the crazy twists and turns throughout the storyline will keep you interested. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the acting is superb. This isn’t just a good horror show, this is what critics call a masterpiece. If you’re not one for subtitles then you may not like this show so much. But if you’re okay with them I’d suggest you log onto Netflix and check it out, like right now!
