Pampering is something every girl dreams about and longs for. We want the perfect nails, perfect hair and perfect everything. There’s only one problem with getting pampered though. Okay, well maybe a few. Our pampering experiences are not always what we thought they were going to be. Sometimes things can go seriously wrong and leave us girls freaking out or totally speechless!

Imagine yourself in a hair salon anxiously awaiting the final product of the dream hair you have wanted for so long. You have looked forward to this day for weeks, maybe even months now. Everything’s going great, your hair stylist is raving about how perfect the color turned out and you are filled with excitement. The reveal is finally approaching and your stylist turns your chair towards the mirror. Well, that’s where it all comes crashing down…every feeling of excitement, hopefulness, and anticipation has quickly turned into panic, shock and anxiety. What was supposed to be an identical image of Julianne Hough’s bleach blonde hair is the complete opposite. Now it’s more like a striped tiger in human form. So, what do you do? Do you tell your stylist you love it, but secretly hate everything about it and want to run out and never come back? Do you awkwardly tell him/her it’s not exactly what you were wanting? Or, do you go home and call your stylist back to see if they can redo it?

Well, what if you were the one behind the chair and experienced a hair catastrophe that you were in charge of?

“While I was at school at Aveda Institute, the back of my blow dryer fell off and I got my clients hair stuck in the blow dryer,” said Sara O’Connor, hair stylist. “I had to turn her to the side so she couldn’t see in the mirror and I was dripping sweat trying to get her hair untangled. I was wondering how I was going to tell her she was about to have bangs, but I got it out thank God.”

Now that we have heard a hair horror story, let’s talk nail salons…the place where you have major expectations and quickly get let down if you have a terrible experience. You know it’s the worst feeling ever when you are watching the nail artist work their “magic” on your mani/pedi and you absolutely hate what’s going on. The color looks nothing like you thought it would or maybe he/she failed to complete a proper pedicure. Here you are again, trying to decide if you should say something or save the awkwardness and cry later.

“I got home from the nail salon after getting a pedicure and noticed that my feet still felt as rough as they did before, so I decided to go back in and tell them that they didn’t do a good enough job,” said Chelsea Jones, an active nail salon goer. “Somehow I managed to get the same nail artist and she pulled out a huge electric sander. I was cracking up even though I wanted to cry because it was so funny. My feet were so raw that I couldn’t even walk the next day.”

You may be thinking, “What could be worse than a disastrous nail and hair experience?” The answer to this is eyebrows. I think I can speak for all girls who frequently get their eyebrows waxed. We want them to be perfect, right? Unfortunately, you can seriously mess up the perfectly shaped eyebrows you have been working on for years. The scariest part about getting your eyebrows done might be that you cannot see anything and have no control over the situation.

A few weeks ago, I was convinced to get my eyebrows threaded for the first time ever. In the past, I have had major anxiety during the process of getting my eyebrows done, so you can imagine how nervous I was. The lady began threading and my heart started racing. I thought to myself, ‘What is taking her so long and is she threading off my whole entire eyebrow?’ Before the process began, I made sure to emphasize that I did not want skinny or thin eyebrows; simply cleaned up. She finally showed me the final product and I immediately reacted out of shock. I hated it and told her that it was a lot thinner than I wanted it. In my eyes, it looked like someone had taken a pencil and drawn a line for an eyebrow. I know that is a little dramatic, but I’m telling you that it was awful. I wanted to run out, but she still had to do the other eyebrow. Afterwards, I kept telling her that they were a lot thinner than I was used to. I felt bad, but couldn’t keep my feelings inside! Needless to say, I now know what not to do.

So, ladies if you have any funny/horror pampering stories please leave them in the comments and you may be featured in my next blog post! I want to hear these hilarious moments!
