It’s that time of the year again ladies where the sundresses and bathing suits come out. This lack of clothing is great for fighting off he summer heat, but terrible when you are trying to hide that big bite mark that your SO left.

If you’re like me and bruise super easily, any little bit of roughness in the bedroom will leave a huge mark. To help those who are like me and have inconsiderate people who love to mark you, I have compiled a list of some of the best ways to remove hickies, bite marks, and even those rear slap marks.

1. Ice, ice baby.

One of the best ways to get rid of any sort of bruise is ice. Applying that ice as soon as you realize he left a nice big bite mark right at the top of your back is key to having it disappear fast. If you happen to not have any ice handy you can pop a spoon in the freezer and get the same results. Just make sure to wrap a towel around either option so you don’t damage your skin.

2. After the heat of the moment, apply some heat.

We all hate them, but in the heat of the moment it’s just so hard to say “no” when someone’s giving you a hickey on the side of your neck. Something I’ll do a couple days after I realize the hickey is there, I apply my heating pad or a hot towel to the side of my neck. The heat helps with the bruising pain and improves the circulation to speed up the healing process.

3. Brush that bad boy out.

Now this method sounds really strange and I was very hesitant to try it when a friend suggested it to me. But taking a brush and gently brushing the hickey is very helpful in getting the color of your skin back to normal. I once had two massive hickey on the side of my neck and brushing it out helped the bruises go away faster. It’s slightly painful, but definitely helps the color of the hickey to go away faster. Will your roommate look at you funny? Most likely, but hey you’ve “gotta do whatcha gotta do.”

4. The typical go to, concealer.

The typical go to for covering those love bites is some good ol’ concealer. The key to covering up any mark with makeup is not over doing it and not under doing it. It is all about blending. You have to channel your inner artist when applying the concealer. Don’t just focus on the discolored spot, but also the surrounding area because nothing says I have a huge hickey then a noticeable make-up spot.

5. What to do if it’s spicy.

At the beginning of the article, I mentioned I would help you figure out how to cover up those rear end slap marks. The last thing we want is to go to the beach and have some fingerprints sneaking out of the bottom of your swimsuit. Since you can’t really put make-up in certain areas because it will rub off easily or it’s just strange applying makeup there, you really have to focus on the ice method. If that doesn’t work out fast enough try wearing a cute beach skirt on top of your swimsuit.
