5 Tips to Survive Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWF chapter.

We all know how stressful finals week is. We’re so close to finally being DONE with the semester, but this is the last week we have to pull through, so let’s finish out strong! Here are some survival tips to get you through finals week:

1. DON’T CRAM!

Instead of trying to fill your mind with everything you’ve learned in a whole semester the night before your final (lol like that’s going to happen), start studying now. Also, make sure to take 10-15 minute breaks while you’re studying so your brain is able to store all the information in your long-term memory.

2. Exercise

Even if it’s just 20 minutes a day, your brain and body will benefit tremendously. Exercising will help reduce stress and increase your energy. JUST DO IT.

3. Sleep

I know, the urge to pull an all-nighter is almost too hard to ignore, but you’re only hurting yourself by doing this. Your body needs sleep for your brain to fully function, so in the end, the consequences outweigh the benefits. Try to get at least eight hours of sleep, please.

4. Ignore Distractions

This is a hard one. It’s easy to want to go out to get some relief from all the stress, but don’t do it. Time is the most precious thing you have at this point, so don’t waste it.

5. Don’t Worry

After you take each one of your exams, let it go. Don’t worry about how you did on it because you can’t change it after you’ve already taken it. Move on and focus on studying for your next exams.

You’re almost there!

Finals week is hard, but you can do this. We’re all in this together; let’s use our woman power to finish this semester out strong. Good luck ladies!
