New Year, New Netflix

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVM chapter.

Still not feeling classes? Need to give your brain a break?? This is where the all-mighty Netflix comes in! (music to your ears, am I right?)

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! As a new year, Netflix has added new shows and movies! So let’s talk about what 2016 looks like on Netflix…new year, new Netflix, right?

Let’s start with January. This month, shows such as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl, and From Dawn to Dusk will be updated. Also a favorite, Parks and Recreation will finally be added to the Netflix mix. Further, we get to see some movie classics like Meet the Parents, and Meet the Fockers make their way to our screens. Other movie releases to look out for this month include Along Came Polly, House of Wax, Ice Age 2, Pride and Prejudice, and Bring it On.

Throughout this year, Netflix will also be debuting 15 of its own, original shows. Just this month, Chelsea Handler is making an appearance as a documentarian through a 4 part documentary series titled Chelsea Does…but don’t worry, in this series she is still guaranteed to make you laugh. Another Netflix original which is bound to gain popularity is Fuller House…more Full House? Yes, that’s right, it’s making a comeback, and with most of its original cast! Look for Fuller House on Netflix on February 26.

Later this year (an exact date has yet to be announced), look for shows such as A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the popular book series, starring the one and only Neil Patrick Harris. In addition to many other Netflix originals being released this year, Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down, a series about hip-hot in New York in the 1970s, has received quite a bit of buzz and will be airing on August 12.

Every month in 2016 Netflix will be bringing in new shows, movies, and documentaries, so go grab some hot chocolate and some popcorn, and go check out Netflix New Releases!
