The Best Looks from the 2018 Met Gala

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVM chapter.

This year’s Met Gala was a treat for anyone who loves fashion. The Met Gala is a prestigious event hosted annually by the Metropolitan Museum of Art that showcases some of the most bold and memorable fashion moments of the entire year. This year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The focus was on the links between fashion and medieval, Catholic-inspired art, and this year’s crop of celebrities did not disappoint. Here fifteen of the the best looks from the 2018 Met Gala.

1. Rihanna: Looking very Pope-like, Rih-Rih wore custom Maison Margiela. Nothing but respect for MY Pope…

2. SZA: Looking appropriately angelic in a pink, flowy Versace dress.

3. Diane Kruger: This pale blue Prabal Gurung gown is absolutely gorgeous and elegant.

4. Kim Kardashian: Kim stunned in a shimmering gold Versace dress that showed off her killer curves.

5. Cardi B: Here cometh the Virgin Mary herself, wearing a bejeweled Jeremy Scott gown that perfectly accentuates her baby bump. I cannot wait for Baby Bardi to be born!

6. Blake Lively: It’s a well known fact that Blake is a fashion icon, and this Versace gown further proves it. Her earrings resemble the time infinity stone, and she somehow managed to hold onto them better than Doctor Strange did.

7. Priyanka Chopra: How can anyone be so beautiful? I can’t wait to see what she wears to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

8. Zendaya: Best Joan of Arc cosplay ever! Zendaya is undoubtedly one of the youngest fashion icons in the game.

9. Chadwick Boseman: The King of Wakanda has delivered once again, making all the other men in attendance look pathetic in comparison.

10. Zoe Kravitz: This barely-there, sheer Saint Laurent dress was a bold choice, but she killed it!

11. Emilia Clarke: The Mother of Dragons, with her own crown.

12. Amanda Seyfried: She literally looked like a Renaissance painting come to life.

13. Ariana Grande: Ariana just flexed on everyone else there by literally wearing a Michelangelo painting.

14. Lili Reinhart (and Cole Sprouse): After over a year of dating, Sprousehart finally made their red carpet debut as a couple, and boy, was it worth the wait.

15. Frances McDormand: She won the Met Gala. That is all.
