From Homecomings chair to Hoo Crew, this weeks Campus Celebrity does it all. Get to know Logan Dickinson as she talks about what she is involved in around grounds, her unique dream job and much more.
What are you involved in around grounds?
I have served as the Homecomings Co-Chair for the past two years and will return as Chair for Homecomings 2015. I am also the Director of Internal Operations for Hoo Crew, a member of Third Year Council, a First Year Resident Advisor, and a core intern for the Sports Promotions Department in the Athletic Department.
Why did you get involved with these organizations? How do they add to your experience at UVA?
I am involved in these organizations because they all combine my love of school spirit, UVa traditions, and they allow me to make an impact around Grounds. I’ve also met my best friends through these organizations and I love being able to give back.
What’s your dream job and why?
In the seventh grade, I told my parents that I wanted to be the next NFL Commissioner. I think the job combines my love of sports, promotion, and being able to make a difference. Plus, the idea of having a ticket to every game during the season sounds pretty cool to me!
What is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
I love to bake! I have my own mixer, countless pans, and love trying new recipes. My favorite thing to bake is homemade red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! I also enjoy spending time with my friends, attending any sort of sporting event, and, of course, binge watching Netflix.
Advice you would give your first year self?
Trust your gut, surround yourself with people that build you up, and realize that it’s okay to change your mind, your major, and your career path (I did all three!). And, don’t be afraid to ask for help and advice!
