Lilly Pulitzer For Target

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

It’s finally Spring in Charlottesville, bring out the sun-dresses, floppy hats and adorable sandals! On a typical Spring day, students can be found lounging on the lawn, chilling in the amphitheatre or scrambling to wrap us classes, but there are numerous major events that occur in Spring, such as the Class of 2015 graduation and the Foxfield races. Lilly Pulitzer dresses and accessories are a common sight in the springtime, but this label comes at a price.

Marshalls and other discount stores occasionally have Lilly Pulitzer on sale, but it’s relatively hard to come by due to its popularity. Luckily for us, Lilly Pulitzer and Target have announced a limited-time partnership that will debut just in time for Foxfield. “The collection ranges in price from $2-$150, and will be available exclusively at all Target stores in the U.S. and Canada and Target.com beginning April 19,” leaving six days to browse before Foxfield on April 25th.

The Lilly Pulitzer Lookbook features clothing (dresses as low as $38!), shoes, accessories and home decor in bright, colorful patterns similar to the classic Lilly styles. There are even adorable bikinis, perfect for summer vacation!

Last year, Target partnered with TOMS, offering shoes and t-shirts in its stores. The “one-for-one” slogan continued for purchases at Target; “for every Target + TOMS gift you buy, we’re giving shoes, a blanket or meals to those in need” boasts the promo. However, the success of this partnership is unknown and the Target + TOMS campaign didn’t seem to have the classic TOMS style shoes and gear, likely deterring buyers.

The promo for Lilly Pulitzer for Target describes the items as “[celebrating] the brand’s resort chic aesthetic and vibrant prints and patterns.” Similar to the TOMS partnership, buyers won’t see the classic Lilly prints, but rather comparable designs. Regardless, the Lilly Pulitzer label and preppy designs will be more affordable with this limited-time campaign.
