Happy Summer from Her Campus at UVA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

Whether it’s your first or last year at UVA, it was a great one. As we finish up this year and we head off to our Summer plans (whether they include an internship, a new job, or just lounging around) I want to give us a reminder of how great the last year was, and how much we love UVA.

Winter was long, but we had an unprecedented number of snow days (and Spring did finally come!)

New restaurants opened all over Charlottesville (as they usually do) but this year, this included corner institutions such as Toro’s Tacos (a new nighttime staple) and Fig.

Her Campus hosted a giveaway, which was obviously extremely exciting for all people involved.

The Virginia Film Festival hosted legend Tippi Hedren, who spoke after a showing of the classic Hitchcock film The Birds.

Tina Fey came back to visit her alma mater.

The Handprint Project make a big impact, raising awareness for sexual assault around grounds.

#wearealluva helped us to all feel a part of the school we choose to attend.

And of course, the basketball team got to the Sweet Sixteen!

So as we all move away from UVA, be sure to remember the good ole song, and the place we call a second home. Happy Summer!
