Ideal girl: “I don’t really have a specific type, just somebody who loves music and somebody I can really connect and vibe with. We have to be able to have deep nostalgic talks at night time, ha I love all that.”
Worst first-date experience: “Alright, so I met this girl on Instagram who I thought was an attractive young lady and we decided to meet up and go for some late-night coffee. It’s late at night and we meet up at this place called Epoch coffee shop in Austin, Texas. We start off the conversation by asking what each others future plans are and I specifically remember her asking me what famous people have I met in the music industry and so I’m not going to lie I was kind of flattered. So now I felt like I definitely had to leave a good impression on her. I offer to get both of our drinks and bring them back to the table, being the gentleman that I am, but I guess I was trying to be too smooth and I end up dropping the hot drinks all over her arm and legs… It was a disaster, we haven’t talked since.”
What do you love most about UTSA?: “I definitely would have to say I love the people here at UTSA. It seems like our campus is very friendly and inviting, always something going on around campus. I love campus life in general as well.”
Outside of school and football, what are you normally doing?: “Outside of school and football I run and manage an organization called The Young ‘Nd With Dreams Campaign, or TheYÑWDCampaign. We basically just set out to influence people to actively chase their true dreams using our social media and entertainment platforms.”
You’re also an aspiring poet and rapper. Where do you find inspiration for your work?: “I say I find majority of my inspiration from past life trials and tribulations, everyday life experiences as well as everything that comes with the topic of love. I like talking about love in my music for some reason; I feel like when it’s real life events that’re not just fabricated it’s more relatable.”
Who’s your favorite rapper?: “I would definitely have to say Drake, but I listen to more R&B than rap honestly.”
I read that you had a cousin who was a 6th round draft pick for the New York Jets. Do you see yourself following in his footsteps and going into the NFL?: “I do. Making it to the NFL would be a life long goal of mine and my brother who’s living vicariously through me when it comes to football. I would love to compete against the highest level of athletes in the world.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?: “Ha! Knowing me, I see myself owning a successful technology or entertainment company of some sort with members of my YÑWD organization. That would be bliss.”
