Etsy: The Dangerous Pinterest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTSA chapter.

Like most college-aged girls, I have a Pinterest. I have everything from a style board to a photography board. It’s everything I love and find interesting. You can find things related to decor, the gym, cool techy stuff, and everything in between. Etsy is kind of the same thing, EXCEPT YOU CAN BUY THOSE THINGS. It’s a dangerous game. I’ll be scrolling through, and before I know it, I have seventeen new items in my favorites and about three in my cart. Here are some underrated Etsy finds that I think you’ll enjoy:

Tapestries

Having one of these basically guarantees you to be #roomgoals. They tend to be pretty pricey, but on Etsy you can find some for as low at $17! They come with all sorts of images – from cityscapes to the beach.

Wall Decals

I clearly have an obsession with compasses, but Etsy has wall decals of all sorts like mountains, skylines, flowers, quotes, and anything you can probably think of. They can also get pricey, but you can find some simple ones for around $8!

Phone Cases

Okay, so they are about the same price as you would find on Amazon or at your local Charming Charlies, but can you personalize them there? NO. Can Etsy make that happen? ALWAYS. They are usually high quality. I have bought about three to date and they haven’t failed me.

Unique tees and tops!

You ever wanted a Grey’s Anatomy sweater? Maybe a Halloweentown one? Well you can get them on Etsy for like $20. You’re welcome. This is my go to place for gifts for those friends who belong to a fandom. It’s super personal and not very expensive!

Accessories

Yes, the hair tie bracelet is a thing! Etsy is also the place to find friendship necklaces and those dainty rings that you just can’t get enough of. You can also find body jewelry, and the sellers are super specific in the materials description.

Etsy has saved me so many times on gifts. It surprises me every day with the coolest things I find, and if you love online shopping, you know how amazing this is. I hope you find some life changing decor or maybe even your winter statement sweater!
