Alpha Delta Pi Lionshare Challenge

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTM chapter.

The Delta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi’s Lionshare Challenge Philanthropy Week benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities will begin this week on November 13th and will last through November 17th!

The week starts off strong on Monday as the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi will be hosting their 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off and Supper! This event will be split into two parts this year. The Supper will begin at 5 pm in the Ballroom in the University Center. At the Chili Supper will be loads of bottomless chili made by the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi, along with toppings, desserts and drinks. Tickets are $5, and you can purchase one from any Alpha Delta Pi sister or at the door! The supper will run until 7 pm. Also beginning at 5 pm will be the Chili Cook-Off. All organizations are encouraged to enter a pot to see who has the best chili at UTM! At 5:30 pm, the judges will start judging, and we will reveal the winners of the Chili Cook-Off and the People’s Choice Awards at 6. So, bring your best pot of chili down to the ballroom to claim all of the bragging rights for the year!

On Tuesday, Alpha Delta Pi sisters will be set up in the UC from 11 am to 2 pm at the Tied Up in Love with RMHC table! The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi will be selling paper bow ties for $1 to be placed on a picture of Dr. Carver, UTM’s beloved Chancellor. When you buy a tie, don’t forget to take a selfie and explain why you are tied up in love with RMHC!

You definitely don’t want to miss Wednesday! On Wednesday, the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi will be hosting their annual Pie Sale in the University Center. Whole pies will be $5, and this year, you can purchase individual slices of pie for $2! Stop by from 9 am to 2 pm to buy a pie (or three)!

The week continues on Thursday as the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi host a Laundry Love Service Night at the Alpha Delta Pi House. Sisters will be packaging powdered laundry detergents with uplifting notes to be sent to the patients and families at Ronald McDonald House Charities. This event is open to the public and will begin at 6pm! Drinks, small desserts and LOADS of fun will be provided.

On Friday, beginning at 5 pm, Bartolas in Martin will be donating a percentage of their profit to Ronald McDonald House Charities! Stop by from 5 pm-11 pm for live music, good food and the Rockin’ Ronald Night at Bartolas!

All week long, the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi will also be set up in the University Center collecting can tabs! Alpha Delta Pi is known for collecting can tabs, which RMHC sends to be recycled in return for charity money, so gather up all the ones you can find, and head on over to the UC from 11am-2pm! The can tabs will be collected in a Can Tab War, where the organization that collects the most can tabs will receive an award at the end of the week!

We can’t wait to see you all this week, and thank you in advance for making our philanthropy week a success!
