5% Pleasure, 50% Pain, 100% Reason to be Proud of your UTK Tough Mudders!

By Laura Legg

I have officially completed the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. While most of you were starting off your Spring Breaks on the beach with margaritas, the Hard Knox Tough Mudder team was starting it off the hard way. This means I was running through 12.4 miles of red Georgia clay to help benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Designed by the British Special Forces, this race is one of the toughest events on the planet and according to Tough Mudder officials, the Georgia event we ran was the hardest one yet. Only 71% of that days participants finished. And I am so proud to say me and my UTK girls are part of that 71%!...

Sorority Girls. I am sure you have seen them on campus; decked out in brightly colored t-shirts with Greek letters emblazoned on the fronts and a strand of pearls. The average joe usually refers to them as snobs, high maintenance or even sorostitutes (sorority +prostitutes).  You probably have the perfect image of them right now; something from the TV show “Greek” or the movie “Animal House”. The smell only a college student could truly appreciate. One of the most well known places to find this familiar atmosphere is "The Strip," located on Cumerbland Avenue. The Strip is known for having a great night life for students at the University of Tennessee. However, many students are not able to go to bars and clubs due to their age. Luckily, we have a solution for you! READ MORE

Tattoos: Hot or Not?

By Kathryn Sullivan

We’ve all seen the famous ink covering the bodies of celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox. But what do the guys at UT think about women that are “tatted up”? I polled some of UT’s men to find out whether or not they think it’s attractive when women have tattoos. Alex, a junior at UTK, said, “For the most part, I really dig girls with tattoos. It definitely adds a level of [rebelliousness] that boosts sex appeal.”

I approached girls of all ages and majors and asked: "What does it mean to be a girl at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville?" READ MORE
