Welcome to Salt Lake Ci-Tea

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

We all need a break after a long period of studying, and it can be hard to relax. One method to calm your nerves is to drink a hot (or cold if you like) cup of tea. So why not change your view of a computer screen/ textbook, and hop over to some of the great tea shop options in Salt Lake. These places are chill enough that if you feel the need, you can even bring your study material along.

The Tea Grotto

You may have seen this place next door to Pig and a Jelly Jar, while on your way to brunch. The Tea Grotto offers a wide of variety of teas they can make you there, loose leaf teas to take home, and yummy tea-infused foods. While you wait, you can even check out the wall of teas they have. The staff are very knowledgeable, and can tell you all about their different types of tea. The setting is super relaxing with dimmed lighting, comfy chairs, and fun décor. If you want to study for finals or work on a paper there, free wifi is also available!

Tea Zaanti

Tea Zaanti is located in the cutest little bungalow on 11th east. With its cozy, homelike atmosphere, your troubles will melt away right as you walk in. Tea Zaanti has a ton of different teas and bites to eat to choose from. If you are having a hard time deciding, Scott (the owner), is a tea expert who can help you find what you need! There are even classes available to make your own blend of tea to take home. Zaanti means “peace”, so if you are looking for some peace and tea (and maybe a new study spot) be sure to check out Tea Zaanti!

Tea Bar

Looking for a local boba tea place? Look no further! Tea Bar offers a great menu of milk teas, iced teas, hot teas, and Taiwanese snacks! It’s in the heart of Sugarhouse, perfect for a shopping break after or a walk around the park. If you want a place to study, this place can get busy. I’d recommend this place to just have a drink and take a break, you know you deserve it!

The Rose Establishment

Okay, to be fair they also serve coffee, but The Rose Establishment has one of the best tea selections in the valley! If you are hungry, they have some fantastic avocado toast and cookies, as well as other yummy brunch and snack items. The atmosphere has super chill vibes, and rocks the industrial design look. It is a great place to hang out and relax, they even have board games to play! If you want to study, there is also plenty of seating to get work done.

Imagine sipping tea with dainty bites to eat in a five-diamond hotel, as a gentle harp plays in the background. Living in the lap of luxury isn’t as far as you think. The Grand America Hotel offers afternoon tea, one of the best tea experiences in town. Yes, it is a little pricey at $28 a pop, but it is totally worth it in terms of quality. You will feel like royalty sitting with your friends and enjoying a nice cup of tea and delightful treats.

Daily seatings at 1:00 PM & 3:30 PM in the Lobby Lounge. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. (801) 258-6707

You have worked hard for finals, and you need to have some time to relax. Remember to treat yourself! Now get out there, and enjoy some tea!
