U of U Student Alumni Board and The MUSS Receive Five Outstanding Awards

The University of Utah Student Alumni Board and The Mighty Utah Student Section (MUSS) took home five awards at the District 7 western regional conference of Affiliated Stduent Advancement Programs of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE ASAP), held in Los Angeles this April. 

The MUSS, which inccludes 6,000 U student members was presented with the “Outstanding Tried and True Program” award. 

The U of U vs. BYU Food Drive received the “Outstanding External Program” award, while Student Alumni Board President Sam Haslam took home the “Outstanding Student Leader” award. Director of Alumni Relations John Fackler received the “Outstanding Adviser” award. 

The university swept the awards over other schools in Utah, California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.

Lexi Jones is a senior with a double major in journalism and anthropology at the University of Utah. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she loves exploring the outdoors, rock climbing, music, and writing. She is currently a museum aid for the Bureau of Land Management. She has interned with LDS Living magazine as a writer, the Utah Museum of Natural History in the anthropology lab, and the National Society of Leadership and Success as a founding chapter president. Her inspirations are Mark Twain and Paulo Coelho. Lexi aspires to be a freelancer for National Geographic. Always pursuing multiple passions, she is currently applying to graduate school for a Masters in archaeology and a Juris doctorate, and yes, she does plan to enroll in both at the same time.
