This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

The weather is getting warmer and that means it’s time to ditch those boots you have been wearing all winter, unless they are cut-out booties of course!  We are here to help you pick the best and most comfortable flats out there!  Here are the top 5 flats for campus living:

     1. Casual Flats: Dark Blue Geometric Jonathan Adler for Toms $59

For your everyday lifestyle you’ll want to stick to flats that are comfortable and offer some support. Remember though, you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. The print on these Toms add some fun to the shoe and the blue color pairs beautifully with all your denim. Plus for every pair of Toms you buy, another gets donated to a child in need. Perfect for your life and theirs!

     2. Sporty Flats: Adrina flats Crocs $39.99

Now I know what you’re thinking. Crocs? Yes Crocs! Because of the rubber design, these Adrina flats are super comfortable for a girl on the go. This design strays from the classic Croc look which, makes the shoes blend well with a stylish girl’s wardrobe. You can choose from a variety of colors that suit your style. The brand can be our little secret!

     3. Neutral Flats: New Look Jepson Cream Open Waisted Pointed Shoes Asos $30.09

Every girl needs a go to pair of neutral flats. They can be dressed down with rolled up jeans and an oversize sweater, or when paired with a body-con dress and blazer you have the perfect professional look. These shoes will never go out of style so stock up now!

     4. Funky Flats: Call of the Wild Loafers Forever 21 $19.80

Who says flats have to be boring? Show off your wild personality with these leopard print loafers. The fit of this shoe is partcularly nice for the price because it will stay on your foot without slipping off when you walk, or rather prowl up and down the many hills on our campus.

     5. Midnight Flats: Peached as Punch Flat ModCloth $29.99

For those nights when you know you’ll be on your feet the whole time but you still have to stand out, ditch your heels and grab these brightly colored beauties. The ankle strap will secure the shoe to your feet all night long so you don’t have to worry about dancing out of them. Plus the coral color is right on trend for spring!

(Editors Note: In case you guys haven’t noticed, our campus just happens to be ON THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN. Uphill and downhill are constants and I’m not even going to get started on all the stairs. If you need another reason to wear flats on campus let me just remind you all of The Freak Ice Storm of Fall ’12, if you weren’t around for that horror, thank your lucky stars and take our advice: Flats are good.)
