Music is pretty much the closest thing we have to time travel today; nothing else on this planet has the ability to transport you to another time period the way music does. One minute you are sitting alone in your room and the next thing you know you are transported into the groovy 1970s  or maybe into the roaring 1920s with some jazz music. The beauty of music is that it can take you anywhere you want to go.

The coolest thing about music has got to be its ability to shape your experience. You can use music to shape a single night of even your entire life. I mean think about it the soundtrack of a movie is what sets the tone for the entire film. The same can be said for music in your life. In a way, the music you listen to is sort of the soundtrack for your life. Music has this incredibly effective talent for making you feel things. You could be having a bad and you listen to a really sad song it just amplifies that experience and helps you get through it because you know that there is someone out there who you can relate to and feels the same way you do. This ability to evoke intense emotion works to help people connect more thoroughly to one another. You can find the connection with another person through your taste in music.

That is why listening the kind of music that speaks to you is so important; it is shaping your experience and you want to be able to look back and think “I really felt that.” Otherwise, your experience can feel a little empty. The amazing thing about music is that there is literally a song for everything in your life. There is a song for every situation or feeling you can think of. It doesn’t matter if you are happy, sad, mad, excited, frustrated, or indifferent there is song for every mood.

Music also has this ability to put you in a different mood than the one you are in. There are songs that can hype you up, there is music that can cheer you up, hell there’s even music you can listen to that can make you cry for no reason at all. Music probably one of the most powerful tools we have in this world so don’t take it for granted and listen to the music that speaks you because it’s going to shape your entire life.
