Online Clothing Brands Dedicated to Conservation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

With the internet at our finger tips, it’s never been so easy to expand our wardrobe buying clothes online. It’s also never been so easy for our clothing choices to make a positive difference in this world.

There are many online clothing companies today who dedicate a portion of their profits towards conservation efforts! Organizations such as 1% for the Planet partner with clothing brands such as Patagonia and Toad and Co. who give 1% of their sales to nonprofit organizations making conservation efforts. However, there are several other companies outside of this organization who are making just as large of an impact individually.

Below you will find a list of some of the most forthcoming and eco-conscientious clothing brands!

Happy Earth Apparel

One of my favorite clothing brands by far, Happy Earth dedicates 50% of net profits to conservation and sustainability efforts! Not to mention, all of their packaging is made from 100% recyclable materials. I ordered two shirts from Happy Earth and was beyond thrilled when I received my package, my name hand written across it with a free beanie and two stickers inside. 10/10 folks.

Ten Tree

Odds are, you’ve seen this clothing company pop up on Instagram or other social media, but have you ever checked them out? For every item purchased, Ten Tree will plant (no surprise here) ten trees! So far, there have been over 11.5 million trees planted globally in suffering ecosystems! With outdoorsy and comfortable clothing, there’s something for everyone at Ten Tree.

Two Birds Apparel

This Canadian company has dedicated themselves to only producing clothes made solely from materials that are certified organic and eco suppliers. Two Birds has apparel for sustainably conscious men and women and, I mean, it’s Canada. What’s not to love about this company? Unfortunately, their website is currently under construction but you can check them out on Facebook to keep updated on when they’ll reopen.

United By Blue

Dedicated to the preservation and conservation of one of our Earth’s most essential ecosystems, for every item purchased, United By Blue cleans up one pound of garbage from our oceans. So far, over 955,000 pounds of garbage have been removed from the ocean. United By Blue sells clothes with a mountain vibe that is undeniable.

4Ocean

4Ocean solely sells bracelets. The catch? Each bracelet is entirely composed of post-consumer recycled water bottles! Much like United By Blue, for every bracelet purchased 4Ocean removes one pound of trash from the ocean.

So next time you feel ready to make a new addition to your wardrobe, head over to one of these awesome websites and know your purchase is making a valuable difference. And don’t forget, as spring cleaning approaches be sure to donate any used clothing to shelters or donation centers that are in need, and remember to shop in moderation. We never need as much as we think and there’s always room for us to grow sustainably!
