New Student Life Center Now Open

We don’t know about you, but we are super excited for the opening of the brand new Student Life Center. The center opens Monday, January 12th! 

The George S. Eccles Student Life Center first broke ground the summer of 2013, and after almost two years the facility is finally done. It is located at the base of the Eccles Legacy Bridge, between the Marriott Honors Housing and the McCarthey Family Track and Field. The facility is free to any student with a valid U of U ID and there are also memberships available for faculty, staff and significant others, retired emeritus and significant others, and Fort Douglas staff.

 

The Student Life Center is seriously cool. The amenities and activities are endless, and here are a few to look forward to:

  • Gymansiums with a total of five sport courts
  • 6-lane, 50 meter pool
  • Zero entery indoor leisure pool
  • Outdoor leisure pool 
  • Large indoor hot tub/spa
  • Raquetball courts
  • 320 yard running track
  • Combative Room
  • Outdoor Adventures
  • Bouldering wall 
  • 4 Group Fitness Studios (spinning, yoga, pilates, and aerobic classes)
  • 4-Story climbing wall
  • 15,000 square foot fitness center with cardio and weights
  • Freshens Cafe
  • University of Utah Credit Union
  • Athletic Training
  • Locker roms
  • Guest Services
  • Social Lounges
  • Outdoor mezzanine
  • Outdoor fire pit
