If you, or someone you know, has ever tried a Juice Cleanse, chances are there were very few positive aspects. You probably decided you needed a cleanse to get rid of all the toxins in your body and maybe start 2017 with a fresh, healthy start.

Something that you don’t hear very often is that Juice Cleanses actually do more harm than good and here is why.

1) Juice contains A LOT of natural sugar

A glass of Orange Juice contains about 22 grams of sugar, about 10 grams less than a standard soda.

2) You might be losing weight, but you’re also losing muscle mass.

And chances are you’ll gain the weight back.

3) Your liver is actually responsible for “detoxing” your body.

And your liver works best when fiber is involved.

4) You aren’t getting enough protein.

Protein helps build immune cells and renew muscle.

5) There is no scientific evidence that juice cleanses improve your health.

The claims are help companies market their product to consumers.

6) You’re not drinking enough water.

You need at least 64 ounces a day.

7) It will slow your metabolism.

    Because people need macronutrients too.

Juice cleanses aren’t for everyone – or anyone, in my opinion – but make sure to do your research before you start one because they can usually do more harm than good!
