10 Utah Fall Dates Perfect for Falling in Love

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

We’re approaching cuffing season whether we’re ready or not. We can either embrace the snuggling, pumpkin spice, and Netflix-watching, or we can fight it. Why fight it? Let’s fall in love with fall even if we don’t end up falling in love ourselves. That being said, here are several dating ideas to try out with your Tinder matches, your surefire soulmate, or your BFFs that encompass fall in Utah.

1. Car Ride up the Canyon

Is there anything better than a fall drive up the canyon to see the trees’ gorgeous display of decay? No. Nothing says romance like dying leaves.

2. Cornbelly’s

Fresh donuts, a corn maze, wood-fired pizza, haunted houses, hay… wood-fired pizza. Whatever stage of the relationship you’re in, you can’t go wrong with Cornbelly’s… and pizza.

3. Drive-in Movie

Drive-in movies – the timeless, perfect, cozy destination that was your parents’ weekend go-to. Experience this blast from the past with present-day movies and passionate hand-holding over the middle console.

5. Haunted Houses

Obviously, the PERFECT fall date. Whether it’s Nightmare on 13th, Fear Factory, the Haunted Forest, or the Haunted Circus, haunted houses are the perfect excuse for holding onto your date for dear life and getting limitless hugs and reassurances that “it’s okay.”

7. Caramel Apple-Making

If you really like your date and want to spend as much time with them as possible – or if you want to torture them with your presence so they’ll never ask you out again – you can drag out this iconic fall tradition into three parts: 1. Apple-picking. 2. Caramel-apple dipping. 3. Caramel-apple eating. Boom.

8. Pumpkin Carving

Carving pumpkins is a messy business…as is dating. Bottom line: the two go perfectly together.

9. Go on a Hike

Enjoy Utah’s gorgeous mountain trails with the person who gives you butterflies, and watch your romance fly as high as the peaks you hike.

10. Boolights at the Hogle Zoo

Even if the date goes wrong, at least you get to see the animals. Foolproof.
