How to End Summer the Right Way

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

With the new school year right around the corner, it is imperative to finish off your summer the perfect way. If you don’t end the summer with a bang, you will end up disgruntled and dreading classes more as each day passes. Summer is only meant to be a small break for relaxation, sleep, regrouping, and fun! However, everything in life has a season, and unfortunately summer’s time is up. Here are some tips on how you should end this glorious time the right way.

Relax and unwind

Yes, I know you don’t want summer to end, but worrying will get you nowhere. Take some time to relax and reflect on all of the exciting things you did this summer. The universe has a plan of it’s own and no matter how much you want to extend summer, you can’t.

Sleep

There is the perfect time for everything, and now is the prime time for sleep. Catching up on your rest before the semester starts will have your body well rested and ready to do work once long hours in the library start. Getting well rested will put you in the right frame of mind for when classes finally begin. Don’t start off with 3-hour nights or being the campus insomniac. Sleep is so important!

Regroup & plan

Making a plan for success for the new semester is the first step to excellence. To achieve greatness in life requires great effort and dedication on your part. No one is going to be able to make your life successful if you don’t put in the work. To reach your highest potential is on you. Stop complaining and get moving. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and you aren’t going to receive your degree with one day of work either.

Have fun

Most importantly, have some fun while you’re at it. Hit the beach, visit friends, spend time with family, shop for a new wardrobe, do it all! You’ll have fun while away at school too, but get out while you still have endless free time. If you are going to school out of state use this time to connect with those near and dear to you at home. You may not see them again for a while, so go the extra mile to make time for everyone

Summer is almost over, but it’ll be back again in no time! You will survive this year! All you need is a good attitude, focus, and hard work. Keep counting down the days.  Before you know it you’ll be off for the summer again, or even graduating. Good luck collegiettes™.
