Dressing for Fall in the Florida Heat

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Pinterest, Instagram, and even Target is swarming with heavy sweaters and blanket scarves. But when it is still 90 degrees in mid- October, sweaters are out of the equation. Instead of cozy flannels and fuzzy socks, us gals in the south are sticking to shorts and dresses.

That doesn’t mean fall fashion is off the table, it just requires some sacrifices.

This type of top is perfect for the heat. Plus, olive green is a great fall color.

Cardigans are great for when you are sitting in a freezing cold classroom.

Swap out bright, floral dresses for t-shirt dresses, and add a flannel around the waist for that touch of fall. Front button-up skirts are all the rage and are great for fall in the south!

Make sure to stay on trend of fall colors: mustard, burnt orange, olive, tan, and navy.

Cute sweaters can still be incorporated, but pair them with shorts instead of jeans. The key is to have one element of fall in your outfit.

So, sip on your *iced* pumpkin spice latte, and embrace fall.
