Still wanting to learn more about the members of Her Campus UT? Well, look no further as we feature the sweet and lovely Habiba Sallam!
Name: Habiba Sallam
Year: Junior
Major: Criminology
Hometown: Cairo, Egypt
Involvement on campus? Her Campus
Why did you choose UT? I came down to look at the campus and I fell in love. I liked that it’s small and it’s convenient since I live in Hyde Park, so it’s very close.
What is your favorite part of UT? Definitely sitting in front of the river in Plant Park.
Why did you choose to be involved in Her Campus? Because I love to write and it’s a nice way to get stuff published online and basically I can write about any and everything I want.
What is your favorite Her Campus memory? Definitely Relay For Life. And of course just knowing all the beautiful ladies I’ve met at HC! I’m so excited that our family is getting bigger, and I can’t wait to get to know all the new girls that joined.
What are you hoping your future holds? (career, goals, etc?) My goal is to make a difference. My career: I’m hoping when I graduate I’ll go back home and work with the NGOs (non-governmental organizations). Then maybe later on, on the side I might turn my cupcake-baking obsession into a professional one.
Fun facts about yourself:
1) My family is the most important thing in my life. They always come first.
2) I’m obsessed with balloons and baking cupcakes.
3) The smallest things can put a big smile on my face like getting me a random card or balloon.
4) Within my friends and family, I’m known to be the “positive person” who they call whenever they feel down.
5) I try to make it a goal every day to put a smile on someone I know and a stranger’s face.
6) Skype is a big factor of my life.
We are so lucky to have such a positive and sweet member like Habiba in our organization, and honestly do not know what we do without her positive outlook and amazing cupcake baking skills!
