Summer 2016 is over, and the fall semester has started.  Some people have mixed feelings about being back: back to 8 a.m. classes, hours of homework, and long, late nights.  The first week has passed, and some people are wondering why they ever missed school.

However, some people are still excited to go back to school: a new semester, new classes, and new school supplies. It is a fresh start, hoping that this will be the semester where you stick to your study plan and decide you’re going to be organized and on top of your game.

USFSP welcomed students back with their Week of Welcome, holding events such as the annual Student Government Island Party, Casino Night, Comedy Night with Adam Grabowski, and others.

Some students were excited to get out of the house and move back into their dorm.  For those who decided to get an apartment, they were excited for some independence and freedom.  They were also excited to see their friends, meet new people, and get involved on campus again.  One USFSP student, Brian Richter, said “I am happy to see all these bright new faces on campus!”

Others were excited for new opportunities and advancements in their education.  One returning student, Enrique Hernandez, was excited to continue his education and path for the future. Whether you are a freshman starting your first semester or a senior in your last semester, this is an exciting time.

Either way, make this semester the best one yet!
