I am absolutely OBSESSED with the new television series Project Runway: Threads. It is everything you love about the original Project Runway series all wrapped up into tiny, cute, and normally sassy teenaged sized packages.

Every episode starts with the teens bringing in a garment that they put together at home with their assistants. Their assistants are normally a member of their family that comes along to help them through the competition. The children get judged on their initial piece and the winner of that challenge gets some sort of advantage for the next section of the competition.

The next section is centralized around a certain theme. They have had themes like a create your own runway look, create an outfit for your favorite singer, and create an outfit based on a particular city. Halfway through working on their pieces, they receive a surprise challenge. This has been creating outfits made out of out of the ordinary materials, this tests their on the spot thinking and creativity skills. The judges give them materials such as burlap, flowers, feathers, and leaves.

The advantage given to the child who won the initial challenge changes every episode but has come in the forms of stealing an assistant, and being given an extra 30 minutes.

In the end is the famous runway. The teens show off their creations to the panel of well qualified judges. Christian Siriano is a former Project Runway winner and current huge name in fashion design. Ingrid Nilsen is a very popular YouTube beauty guru known as “Missglamorazzi”. Vanessa Simmons loves everything to do with fashion and is the daughter of the very popular Rev Run from the group Run-D.M.C.. The last judge is different every week and has included Zendaya and Ariel Winter.

The winner receives “$10,000 to be used at any Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts Store or Joann.com, a prestigious scholarship to the summer program at FIDM including travel expenses and a top-of-the-line sewing and embroidery studio courtesy of Brother International Corporation (Lifetime).”

This show is completely adorable and I love all the contestants that they bring on the show. They are very talented for their ages and all have a great passion for their craft. There is always bound to be humorous banter between the assistants and the contestants that is guaranteed to make you laugh.

If you loved Project Runway chances are you will love Project Runway: Threads! Make sure to check it out every Thursday 10 pm ET/PT.

HCXOXO
