Theodore Broecker Brings Positive Change

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

When pondering who I should interview this week for Her Campus, I thought of someone I couldn’t believe I had missed out on interviewing previously, and I immediately sent him a message inquiring for his interest. Like his usual punctual self, he replied within moments, and we were able to get together within the hour for a interview. Theodore Broecker is his name; the current President of Delta Sigma Pi here at USFSP.

“Two years ago, I decided to come here in the Spring of 2015, and I joined the professional business fraternity; and I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions that I made in my college career because it helped me perfect my soft skills, which is one of the biggest complaints in today’s business world,” he said.

Theodore spoke highly of the fraternity’s role in contributing to his growing leadership skills, which shine through in his day-to-day activities. He naturally presents himself to people with a team-oriented mindset while asserting himself as a key player: His sincerity and determination bring forth the best from his peers.

As well as keeping himself busy with the USFSP business fraternity, he also acts as Vice Chair of Student Green Energy Fund, and he takes on an active role in demonstrating his enthusiasm for the environment by doing something we all should fit into our schedules – spending time outdoors.

“I’ve always loved to be outside as much as I can. I think that people my age definitely don’t spend enough time [outside], but it’s just something that I love doing. I just love having fresh air; I love feeling the sun on my skin. I believe that I am solar-powered,” he continued, “Honestly, I feel weird if I don’t get enough sun on my skin… Many people spend so much time inside, and you’re just not supposed to do that. As a human, you’re supposed to be outside: You’re supposed to be outside communicating; engaging in social interactions. I think that it’s so important for your health, your mind, and your body; your spirit – just everything.”
