Thursday night students walked down the red carpet outside the USC ballrooms to attend the 2016 Rocky’s. The event began and the various awards and plaques were given out. All of the award winners were nominated and chosen by USFSP students, these awards included areas such as leadership legacy and sport club of the year.

PEERS won the Student Organization award for the second year in a row, and Cynthia Wyre won the Leadership Legacy award.

The Women’s Empowerment Club won Multicultural Organization of The Year. Freshman Megan Hammer has been very involved in the club this semester. They worked to put on multiple events including Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and a panel on sex trafficking in the Tampa Bay area.

“It just meant so much to us,” Hammer said. “We work hard to bring people together over controversial issues, so to be told that we are doing a good job of it in this way, we appreciate it so much. It lets us know we can continue doing our job and know that we are doing right.”
