Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

Can we please talk about Katy Perry’s Super Bowl performance? She KILLED it! She had Lenny Kravitz AND Missy Elliott in her performance!

Perry made her way to the stage using a golden lion. Yes you read that correctly, a golden lion! Plus it moved so realistically. After that, I finally realized how much of a BOSS Perry is.

Afterwards she then performed Dark Horse with great choreography from the dancers and the stage! Yes the stage complemented the dancing! The stage looked like a computer that correlated with the dancing.

Perry then did a duet with Kravitz for “I Kissed a Girl” Kravitz reminded us of how talented he is as a singer and guitarist. After his awesome acting in Hunger Games I almost forgot he was a legendary artist.

Perry then took the entire audience to the beach. Not literally but Perry had people in shark, beach ball and palm tree suits while she sung “California Girls”.

Then the music changed drastically and the camera made its way to Missy Elliott. How long has it been since the world has seen Missy Elliott perform? Elliott blessed the stage with a few of her classics such as “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It”.

Once Perry finished being a rap star she concluded the performance with “Firework”. She of course had fireworks exploding in the background but what was really beautiful was how she was in the air on an actual firework as she sang the song.

Katy Perry’s performance was MAGNIFICENT! BUT! *Kanye West voice* Beyonce had the best Super Bowl Halftime Performance of ALL TIME!
