This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

While we do live in Florida and it doesn’t seem like it will anytime soon, the weather will start to cool off. Going to school in St. Petersburg provides so many different great ways to spend some time outside. Here are five ideas to help get you get out there.

1.) The USFSP Waterfront: With your USFSP student ID you can rent bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards and much more. This is free and a really great resource to take advantage of.

2.) The Dalí Museum: Take a short walk over to the Dalí museum. Free for all USFSP students who bring their ID, it is a wonderful way to spend a quiet afternoon learning more about Salvador Dalí and seeing the other exhibit as well.

3.) Central Avenue: This street is packed with fun and interesting shops left and right. Even just to go window shopping with a few friends can be a fun way to explore more of the city we get to live in.

4.) Picnic in the Park: Take a walk down to Vinoy park and have a picnic by the water. It’s in a beautiful location and sitting out on a blanket here with a couple of friends will be relaxing for all of you.

5.) The Florida Holocaust Museum: Just a five minute walk from campus is the Florida Holocaust Museum. Again, USFSP students can get in for free here after showing their student ID cards. This museum has exhibits on the three different stories of the building and is well worth your time.
