If you live in the state of Florida, then I’m sure you have heard the statement “Florida doesn’t have seasons besides summer and summer.” Even though this does ring true for the majority of the year, we still will have those few days of weather that are cooler than all the rest. These days allow us to pretend that we live a bit farther up north, even if the leaves don’t turn pretty hues of red and brown. Despite the heat, fall is still my favorite season, aesthetically at least, and as long as we are pretending it’s fall here in Florida, here are some of my favorite fall-related items that are customizable for Florida’s weather:

1. Nude coloured pair of sandals: Let’s be real, we all think booties are cute. I love them, and I will be the first to admit that I binge-buy many pairs every fall season. However, many days of walking to class outside, or just going out in Florida in general, proves hard to want to wear booties because of how hot it is outside. My solution for you is this: a cute, but affordable pair of natural or nude coloured sandals! They’ll go with every outfit, and the colour is a good summer-to-fall transition.

2. The perfect nail colour for fall: I experimented with a gel manicure this month for the first time, and even though I didn’t love how brittle my nails were after I took them off, I loved the fall colour that the salon painted them. A good warm-toned neutral colour (picture coming) is perfect for fall, and will go with any outfit!

3. Pumpkin Spice Latte mix (to ice): Although I’m no longer consuming caffeine, I still thought I would include this because I love pumpkin spice! Starbucks sells these quick-to-make PSL’s, all you do is add boiled water and you’re done! When I made these in the past, I would make them the night before and then chill them overnight, as well as add ice and a splash of soy milk the next morning, and voila! You have a DIY PSL, and you’re set to take it on-the-go to class.

4. Chapstick and a good moisturizer: The season change (however small it is in Florida) is known for chapping lips and drying out skin, and that case doesn’t change in Florida. I make sure to always have a chapstick in my bag, and a moisturizer to use on my face, arms, and legs before climbing into bed at night

5. Cozy Playlist: Every fall, I like to create a playlist on Spotify with my favorite “warm” artists. Many of them include Birdy, Vance Joy, Mumford & Sons, Judah & the Lion, James Bay, and Hozier. The feeling of the music is homey, easy to listen to, and good to unwind to.

6. Candles: Of course when unwinding at night and listening to your cozy playlist, you have to light some candles too! My favorites from Bath & Body Works are Pumpkin Spiced Cheesecake and Leaves.

Hope you enjoy the fall season and cozying up with all of your essentials and a good Netflix addiction!=
