Campus Cutie: Connor Reading

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

Meet Connor Reading! New to St. Petersburg from Jacksonville, he loves relaxing by the views USFSP has to offer.

What year are you?

I’m a freshman.

What’s your major?

Psychology.

Why do you want to go into psychology?

I wanted to be a chemical engineer and then I realized in my AICE chemistry class that I couldn’t do that. From there I was actually taking a psychology course at the same time and it was really interesting. I got really drawn into the whole aspect of how the mind works.

Why did you decide to come to USFSP?

I wanted to go to a campus away from home and I really wanted to go to USF. I had friends that were going to Tampa but I liked this campus more. I liked the smaller class sizes and the closer group that seemed to be here.

What’s your favorite part of going to this school?Aside from just relaxing down by the Bay and hammocking would definitely be the football games.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned since coming here?

Mainly just be myself. If people don’t like me then that’s their fault and its not going to affect me. I spent too long trying to live how other people wanted me to be and now I have a chance to be myself.

Favorite movie and why?

That is a tough one. For right now the movie I’m in the mood for the most would be Rocky. It is the classic underdog story and an amazing movie.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Like I said I like to go hammocking, relax, hangout with friends and have movie nights. I like to go to the Dalí a lot too, it’s nice over there.
